Bell of Lost Souls: 2500 Witch Hunters Roster

Fun. While it would be slow to set up, it looks like it would equally slow for your opponent to chew through that many bodies. I was going to say I would miss all the armor, but there's still 7 tanks in the list.

I was contemplating taking 2 squads of melta Vets in Chimeras and a squadron of 2 Demolishers in my own Sisters list for 'Ard Boyz. Since I don't already play Guard I haven't thus far gotten a hold of all of the models, or justified spending the cash, to field the mixed list for semis. The clincher has been that the induction ruling only affects this one tournament.

What are your thoughts on how they modified induction (Armored Fists being traded for Veterans, 0-1 LRBT becoming 0-1 squadron, scout bikes, etc)? They chose to be really liberal and, while as a WH player my first reaction is to cheer, I'm not done considering the implications if my group of friends adopts this.

Yeah, against a big army like Orks I would be hard pressed to get 5 turns done in two and a half hours. Normally, that's not a problem (turns 5 and 6 are bad for gunlines) but my FLGS has imposed a penalty for slow playing.

I'd be happy to help you with your list. Three BS4 Meltaguns in a Chimera for 155pts isn't a bad deal. And in the right army Demolishers are fantastic. It really depends on what you are planning. I find that combining orders and faith is loads of fun.

I have a 2500pt Imperial Guard army that includes a knot of mechanized Sisters (Canonness w/Celestians, Celestians, 2 units of Battle Sisters and Dominions) that gives me 7 faith points on top of 1500pts of Imperial Guard.

I really like what they did with Inducted units in the Ard Boyz. It was permissive, but it blocked the upgrade characters that led to the really abusive stuff. I think it's the best thing that's happened to the Inquisition in a long time and I'm advocating using those rules for normal play. It closes the gap between the power levels of the WH/DH codicies with the new power level of the SM/IG codices.

The mixed list I was considering in brief is:
    Jump Canoness
    Canoness with combi-flamer
    3x Sisters in Rhinos
    2x Seraphim (8 and 7)
    Dominions in Rhino
    2x Exorcists

    2x melta Vets in Chimeras
    Squadron of 2x Demolishers

    OM Inq with mystics

There are Books all around. The list has Litanies on the Jump Can for a total of 11 faith, which is less than I'd like. One Canoness splits off from the 7 Seraphim before charging, the other rides with the Dominions to provide the 6th flamer in the squad (and LD 10, and to get popped for faith). My original list had a squad of 5 Celestians with 2 meltas, but the Vets just do the job better. In playtesting with proxies the list did very well, even beating a Vulkan bike army in the drawn and quartered mission from round 1. The Demolishers haven't lived past turn 2, but have tended to soak an army's worth of shooting before going down. Better them than my Rhinos. That and the fact I want to advance with them as a partial screen makes me inclined towards running them naked, at most giving them dozer blades or a hull lascannon.

It looks like it's too late to get ahold of the Demolishers, and don't think normal LRBTs will fill the same niche. It doesn't really provide enough of the key features that drew me towards the Demo in the first place. I potentially have access to several LRBTs, an Exterminator, and a Conqueror turret (which I suspect couldn't really pass for WYSIWYG as a Demolisher), and the chassis all have hull Lascannons with the option for HB sponsons. Do you think it's worth fielding the melta Vets, even without the big IG steel? Or giving the normal LRBTs a try, though it still costs me an Exorcist?

It's a tough call and it depends on what your alternatives are. Without the squadron of Demolishers, your Mystics aren't as useful.

I'd probably go with 3 Exorcists and try to add as many 155pt Veteran squads as you can get your hands on. For the price of 2 Demolishers, you could have an Exorcist and another Veteran squad.

You should have a decent answer to any army you come up against. I'd love to see your final list.

    My original list was:
    Jump Canoness
    Celestians in Immolator
    5x Sisters in Rhinos
    2x Seraphim (8 and 7)
    Dominions in Rhino
    3x Exorcists

It looks like I'll end up playing this list again, with modification. I've been unable to get a hold of the friend that plays IG, and am leaving for Seattle before he gets off work tomorrow. On my own my options are to trade in a single melta Vet squad in Chimera, add an Inq with mystics or Lord with mystics and psychic hood, bump my Canoness to being on foot and dork with the Celestians, and/or squeeze in another Canoness in the Dom squad for faith. I own just enough Guard for 2 squads of Vets, but not the special weapons or Chimeras. Nor enough to turn one into a platoon to squeeze in my single LRBT. I'll probably spend the morning writing up some of these options to see how cleanly they build.

I'm always glad to see you post Witch Hunter and/or Sisters related lists, and I'd be interested to see your "mechanized knot" list too. I'm curious to how you guys are finding mechanized lists in 5th. I know there was some speculation earlier that "in six months we'll only see Rhinos carrying around cult marines" when it comes to playing against IG. The lists you two have posted certainly have me interested in incorporating IG vets into my WH list as they seem to be a better option than stormtroopers.
