Bell of Lost Souls: How Did I Miss This???

    Ha ha - cool picture

I think you're right, as long as he has the same special rules as the squad he's joined he should be able to lead a nasty flank attack!

This Wolf Codex is a bloody site better than the Chaos Book - i wish there were some more exciting options we chaos generals could take for our HQs :(

I think that's my new favorite Flywire picture too. I still laugh everytime I see it.

I've already heard of a couple of CSM players that are going to do Space Wolves counts-as armies. Fenrisian Wolves as daemons, Lone Wolves as Chaos Spawn, etc.

But I agree. I like the trend of making cooler special characters -- I just wish there were some nice 50pt character/tank upgrades in the SW codex

Mkerr you did miss something.. Saga of the hunter gives Outflank and Stealth not Scout and Outflank. This is where the rules get fuzzy because BEL says if the scouts make use of their Outflank move they may deploy via BEL.

The WGBL may be able to take advantage of this because he has Outflank, though a FAQ ruling is most likely needed

Why would Scout be needed to outflank with the Wolf Scouts? Did I misunderstand your comment?

The WGBL can be attached to the Wolf Scouts. Both units have the ability to outflank. The Wolf Lord doesn't have OBEL, but neither would a Wolf Guard that was attached to the squad.

An FAQ is probably in order, lol.

Check the USR's for the ones that are lost by both IC's and units that join up. BRB pg74.

If a IC with out Scout joins a unit with Scout, the unit loses the USR Scout.

So by attaching a character with the ability to outflank to a unit with the ability to outflank, the unit uses the ability to outflank?

    I don't buy it.

    1) the WGBT wargear options state that "he can't take the saga of the hunter if he has jumpack or bike". then you would think he can take it if on a thunder wolf. but the description of the saga itself states "infantry only", while the description of the thunder wolf gear states "the model change it's unit type to cavalry". so you can't take both.

    2) RAW : if the IC with saga of the hunter joins a scout unit, they loose scout, and then can't outflank. the IC still can outflank, but as the description of the saga doesn't state that he gives the ability to any unit he joins... in the end there's no outflanking IMO.
RAI : you should be able to outflank a hunter IC with scouts. however I'm not sure you could use the special BELO of the scout. I'd only allow for a normal outflanking.
    will need a FAQ.
